Himalayan Fusion

The taste of food is mediocre. Does not compare to home made delicious food cooked to feed a tired hungry soul after a hard day at work.

I heard a lot about this restaurant, and about its authenticity. But I was disappointed for the taste of chicken chili. It was awful. Momos were ok. Biryani was good. Aalu govi was awesome. I would try another nepali restaurant before trying this one again.

My only visit here was incredibly bizarre. I have friends that eat here regularly and they say the food is good and the service is decent however when I visited the waiter was clearly hammered out of his mind. Everyone was incredibly uncomfortable and waiting for something whether it was food, checks, or their waiter. No one seem too happy. We ordered one drink paid for it and ran out of there as quickly as possible.

We ordered chicken chat it was not bad but cold which is not expected. They gave papas after 30 mins we sat. It is the time to get the appetizer.The main service took more than an hour. Very very slow service. If you want to do time pass then this is the place

What a great buffet!! Delicious options, some of them vegan, kind and fast staff and good price!

Lamb samosas were salty and not great. The lamb saag was wonderful. The food was very slow despite us being 1 of 2 couples there. Luckily I liked my date!

Decent atmosphere. Maybe what I got wasn't the best, but the water was warm. The food was flavorful but it could've better.

Date of visit 7/27/19This is the only place I know who serves YALK MOMO (dumplings which is quite popular in Nepal especially in Himalayan region). Papadam (check one of the picture) is really good with the green sauce . This is the 9th time I have been to this place and my order has always been the same : MOMO plus CHOWMIN (try the yalk momo) Time of entering this venue: 5:26 pmTime of order: 5:28 pm . Lucky we got in so fast. Time of delivery : 5:41 pm of chowmin (MEE GORENG). Slightly salty and oily. You can customize it and request for less salty and less oily ones. But ask for chicken chowmin. It is just so good. Time of delivery : 5:48 of yalk momo . It comes with spicy sauce and 10 pieces. It taste like dumpling with a soup inside Because it takes such a long time to make authentic nepali / Himalayan food ( and it is so good) I have waited for an hour for this amazing food.

I visited this place during restaurant week, i really enjoyed the indian food, was good and very tasty. The staff is really friendly.

Have some different foods, I had the vegetable momo, very tasty. Be careful on the spice, the Tikka masala at medium was very hot and very good.

A surprising experience. I love hole in the wall, unusual restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed the reasonably priced buffet. I don't usually love Indian food, but this was awesome. Service was a little slack, but what the heck.. we had time, and it was a buffet at all.

Low lighting, great lunch buffet, easy access from Water Street street parking or the bus station. Good on the budget if you want to treat your pastor or boss to lunch. Great place to take a date.

Good food, but they kept me waiting almost an hour for the check after I was done eating.

We had dinner in Himalayan Fusion and the food is wonderful. The staffs are friendly. This place is also dog friendly. I would recommend this place.

Super cozy restaurant with fantastic food! Loved the vegan options, although wish that there were more. However, the service was incredibly slow. I'm not sure if they were just short-staffed on a Saturday night, or if that's just a thing. I'll definitely give them another try!

Best Lunch Buffet by far in Charlottesville in my opinion. Food is always fresh and flavorful with a great variety of options. They don't skimp on the spices in a few of their dishes either which is awesome. The waitstaff is also always very nice and helpful. Probably my favorite restaurant in Charlottesville tbh.

Went here on the day of the U ite the Right rally! Only one of tbe restaurants nold enough to be open. Kudos! Indian influence, lots of vegetarian.

Such great service and amazing food. There are always a few vegan options at the lunch buffet as well. The food is flavorful and not too hot spicy.

I love the lunch buffet here. This is my go to lunch spot for lunch whenever I come to Charlottesville. The wait staff David, Murtaza and Moon always greet you with a smile and are very kind and helpful. The food is delicious with different dishes in the menu for different days of the week. Chicken curry on Wednesday, chilli fish on Monday etc.. Definitely recommend!!

Great dining experience.

The staff is friendly and eager to answer any questions or make recommendations. The food is great - very authentic and carefully prepared. The lunch buffet is a deal that can't be beat. As a vegetarian, I love the salads with fresh greens and mango and the great variety of delicious meatless curries. There are, of course, lots of meat dishes as well. Also, good desserts and, my favorite, hot pots of spiced milk tea!

We ordered take out and it was fantastic!!!! We will definitely order from here again!

I love Indian cuisine. I used to live in Princeton, NJ, where if you drove in any direction, you could see 5 star pizza places, top tier Indian restaurants, and the best delis, diners, and convenience store eateries anywhere. This buffet reminds me of home, where delicious Indian buffets are common. HF has a good variety of foods, vegetarian options, fresh naan, tasty tandoor items, classics like Aloo Gobi and masala chicken, and bright sauces. Colorful, hot, and delicious. The very affordable $10 buffet makes up for the trouble of finding free parking. The decor is beautiful, and the atmosphere is comfortable. If you want to introduce someone to the flavors of India, this is a good place to start.

Great tasting Indian/Nepalese cuisine. The owner puts in a great effort to ensure you get good tasting and quality food every single time. The chef here seems to know what he is doing as the taste is very authentic and every dish is done as it would have been in the subcontinent. Highly recommended if you are in the downtown area. The restaurant has a good cozy feel to it. The roti bread is particularly unique and made fresh ever single time.

Excellent buffet for lunch. Exotic and delicious food at reasonable prices. Staff not particularly friendly but its a buffet so no problem.

Buffet was good, but would have been nice to have more Tibetan and Nepalese offerings - felt like the food choices had more Indian.

Decent food at a decent price. Relatively cozy for small groups and trying some new dishes. Biryani is a popular option here!

They have a wonderful lunch buffet that never seems to stay the same, so you get to try new things out or are pleasantly surprised when an old favorite rotates back in. They make most dishes with mild spice and allow you to add in additional heat, which is nice. Every now and then they will put a dish out that is spicy and will label it as such. The only issue I have with HF is that it is a bit hot and sticky inside during the summer. Otherwise it's a great experience.

My husband and I looooove this restaurant. All of the food that we’ve tasted here is delicious 😋!! Everything is always fresh. We usually eat lunch from the buffet.

Went for dinner and was a great place.The food was wonderful.Had the Nepali curry chicken, spicy.Also had the samosa for the appetizer.It was great no problems there.The issues came when it was time to pack up the leftovers and pay the bill.We waited over 40 minutes after we were done eating and saw no one was paying attention to us, as well as three other couples around us. We all asked this one waiter very politely to get the check and boxes for us to wrap up the leftovers he appeared angry when we asked him. Another 30 minutes went by before the manager helped us.I will order again but may get to go instead.
